John Cruickshanks has been a Gamekeeper for over 30 years, he has gathered a wealth of knowledge and experience as a Scottish Hill and as a Low Ground Keeper.

John spent 5 years as a young under keeper at Dunmaglass Estate, a traditional Grouse Moor, south of Inverness, before moving to Invercauld Estate, within the Cairngorms.

John-CruikshanksVisitors from all around the world come to enjoy walked up and driven Grouse at Invercauld, the Estate also had an extensive partridge and pheasant shoot to nurture and manage.  John spent 16 years at Invercauld, with the last 11 years as Head Keeper, before moving to Mansfield Estates, home to Scone Palace, to take up the helm at Logiealmond, as Shoot Tenant.

Over the last few years, John has developed and improved some of the existing drives and created some new ones at Logie, producing high birds to improve some of the smaller drives.

A fabulous selection of over 25 varied drives offer great sport for beginners to very experienced shots.

John, a keen shot himself, runs a relaxed professional shoot where guests are made to feel at home, as he is in attendance at each shoot the guns get the chance to enjoy the ‘craic’ with him in between drives. His enthusiasm and devotion for shooting and countryside sport is a credit to him, and is clear to see at Logiealmond.  His aim is to ensure every team of guns has a fantastic days of sport, a great atmosphere within simply stunning countryside.
